Welcome to the Golden Gate GMC Fleet website.

GGGMC was conceived just after the TI Fleet Week Rally in October of 2010 as a group of GMC owners who are interested in taking shorter trips together more frequently.  Through discussions we've found that the high concentration of owners in our local area and our proximity to great local destinations make it possible to plan more trips for shorter periods closer to home.

There's a 77 Eleganza for sale about two blocks away from my family's business in Novato.  I've always taken notice of it every time I'm up there but the owner has put up a "For Sale" sign on it again this year.  When a future GMC'er wanted to take a look at it I tagged along to check it out myself.

Everybody has a favorite spot to take their motorhome.  Tell us about yours.

My 1975 Glenbook had leaking airbags. Faced with a costly airbag/air system repair, I thought of using springs after looking at a Class C motorhome built on a Ford E350 chassis. The spring compressed length on the Class D was similar to the distance between bogie arms on the GMC. And the weight carrying capacity was similar.
